Travelling during Golden Week
Golden Week is the National Day holiday (国庆节) in Mainland China. Trains, flights, hotels and tourist sites are at their busiest of the autumn, so book early or travel outside the holiday. Business travellers should not plan meetings with Mainland companies that week.
What Golden Week means for B2B teams
Mainland offices and most factories close for the whole week. The make-up workdays around it are full working days, which makes the weeks before and after busier than usual. dminorstudio guidance Our email planner rates the 2026 Golden Week as avoid for B2B email to Mainland China.
Taiwan is different
Taiwan does not have Golden Week. Its National Day is 10 October: in 2026 Taiwan is off Fri 9 Oct 2026 to Sun 11 Oct 2026, in 2027 Sat 9 Oct 2027 to Mon 11 Oct 2027 (www.dgpa.gov.tw).
